The Fashion & Design Center ( FDC) will participate at Cairo Textile week conference through a lecture in the conference program.

Dr Doaa Ezzat from FDC will lecture about the impact of textiles on fashion and how knowledge of fabrics contributes to the success of designs. Dr Doaa Ezzat and Dr Doaa Farouk from FDC will also contribute to ITEX Cairo digital printing masterclass preceding Cairo Textile Week

The FDC has started in 2001, with a very unique kind of model, with a private management under the umbrella of the Egyptian Ministry of  Trade and Industry. The FDC for its trusted reputation is the leading Design Institute all over the Middle East, which provides an international professional level in the fields of fashion and design.
According to the technical potentiality & long experience in the fashion field, the Fashion & Design Center’s mission is to enhance the Textile and Ready-Made Garment sector in Egypt & to assist the local producers acquire International standards for their production in order to increase their revenue & exporting capacity through our different services, with a professional track design & a fully fitted expert staff & dedicated team of International & local enthusiastic and creative professionals, intending to effectively enable our clients to promote & further their business & to sustain their success into the future.
 The FDC is seeking to keep pace with the International fashion standards, through providing International accredited training courses, creating new opportunities, providing assistance in trading activities towards the European market & technical consultation which covers all the supply chain, & providing well trained and qualified Egyptian cadres able to contribute to the development and modernization of the Textiles and Ready-Made Garments industries in Egypt.

Cairo Textile Week to host the Textiles & Home Textiles Export Council in the conference

Mr Hany Salam, CEO Salamtex and board member of the Textiles & Home Textiles Export Council representing the council will speak about: Textiles Exporting Opportunities & Requirements.

The lecture will be presented on 16 October, 2021 at the opening ceremony of Cairo Textile Week .

The Egypt Textiles and Home Textiles Export Council; commonly known as THTEC is a public private partnership (PPP) between the Ministry of Trade and Industry and an assembly of the most prominent Textile’s exporters, responsible for the development and promotion of textile industries exports. 

THTEC is a non-profit organization established by the Ministerial Decree No.521 for the year 1997, with the mandate of  acting as an advisory board to the Minister of Trade and Industry, Policy Advocacy in which it lobbies for the welfare of the sector’s exporters, and finally to market and promote for the Egyptian Textiles & Clothing exports.

Introducing Debbie McKeegan , Cairo Textile Week Guest Speaker

Debbie McKeegan is the CEO of TexIntel. As a multi-disciplinary creative and renowned digital print pioneer, she holds over 25 years’ experience within the Textile manufacturing industry. Texintel provides an independent online resource alongside an Expert Advisory practice that aims to connect and inspire the Digital Textile Print Community worldwide.

An award winning Textile designer, and lifetime manufacturer of printed products for Fashion and Interiors, she has a unique insight that combines creativity with a deep knowledge of printing manufacturing process with special focus on textile digital printing.

Ms McKeegan was guest faculty of the first ITEX Cairo 2019 where she contributed with the following lectures in ITEX CAIRO 2019 program :

  • Design Textile Disruption and Sustainability
  • The Design Workflow and “Print-on-Demand” Production.
